Borg Manufacturing is an innovative and progressive kitchen door and decorative board manufacturer, providing a range of decorative surface products into the kitchen and joinery markets throughout Australia. We have manufacturing facilities on the NSW Central Coast.
We are currently looking to employing an experienced OH&S Professional to focus on continually improving safety practices and influencing safety-based change throughout all of our sites.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that effective policies, procedures and systems are in place to provide and maintain the highest level of safety awareness, accident prevention and compliance as per current practice and legislation. The incumbent will work closely with Safety Leaders at each of our sites.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Assisting the business to build focus on occupational health and safety
- Maintaining, developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures
- Increasing safety performance throughout the business
- Providing appropriate advice to management, particularly in relation to current and emerging OH&S legislation
- Developing and implementing OH&S strategies
- Investigating incidents to determine root cause and contributing factors and recommending initiatives to prevent reoccurrences
- Co-ordinating risk reduction practices
- Ensuring OH&S compliance throughout the business
Essential skills and experience required are:
- Proven experience working as an OH&S Professional within a manufacturing environment
- Tertiary qualifications in OH&S management
- Demonstrated understanding of risk assessment and risk management practices
- Superior knowledge of relevant legislation and OH&S systems
- Exceptional influencing and communication skills across all levels of employee/management
