Reporting to the company's OH&S Manager you will work closely with employees within our Engineering and Maintenance departments as well as our Manufacturing worksite to develop and implement safety processes to optimise plant performance to enable the achievement of the business targets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To communicate and train all employees in our safety management system.
- To train and assist Managers, Supervisors and Leading Hands in implementing their OHS responsibilities
- To conduct risk assessments in consultation with employees and provide input for the required changes to the safety management system to Senior Management.
- Communication with the other Safety Co-ordinators and Business Unit Managers on the site and at other locations to ensure consistency in application of policies and procedures.
- Undertake regular inspections and audits on compliance with procedures and site rules
- To understand hazards and incidents in the workplace and recommend changes to work practices to drive required safety improvements.
- Work with relevant employees to document operating procedures and develop training aids from the procedures.
- Maintain records of all injuries and illnesses in the workplace in accordance with Company polices and procedures.
- Promote consultation arrangements within Business Unit

To be successful in this position you will possess:
- At least 2 - 3 years experience working with safety in a manufacturing / engineering environment especially in high risk areas such as isolation and dangerous goods
- Tertiary Qualifications in OH&S
- A high level of computer literacy
- Experience and qualified as a trainer and assessor
- Experience in monitoring OHS Systems � audit qualifications if possible
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigations
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
